Title: help with X-surf and Genesis
Post by: ensoniqman on February 27, 2010, 01:15:43 AM
Hey folks -

I've searched this forum for a specific question about x-surf, but come up empty.

I just bought a x-surf 3 card for my Amiga2000, and can get the dial up software working.

I have an old version of Miami, but it doesn't seem to support ethernet or RJ45.  So I tried using the install disk, and it asks for Genesis or Miami, and then just hangs.

SO..I tried my OS9 disk (yet to be installed due to low ram) and it has Genesis on it.  I copied that to my HDD...but can't seem to configure the AmiTCP for Genesis.

Any of that make sense?  I am in the dark here....

Help!  :)

Genesis is a sort-of AmiTCP, assign the Genesis drawer as AmiTCP: and run Genesis to configure the LAN.

Remember to install MUI or Genesis will not run.

Not necessary with AmigaOS 3.9 version of Genesis as it uses ClassAct which is built into AmigaOS 3.9.

The MUI version I have is pretty old (1996).  So that is part of the problem, I suppose.
