I am interested in buying an A1200 REV2B mobo I found in amibench.
I really have no idea if this mobo is any different to my existing A1200 computers, so I'm searching for some information, like pics or tech data.
I allready checked google and yahoo, but no results.
Does anybody have a REV2B mobo?
If so, please send me some pics, or just write me about the differences with the older mobos.
Thanx :-)

@ Fragment
Here's mine with the patches discussed before..
Could I use that Mobo picture for a tech note on A1200 motherboard fixes?
Your board has the PCMCIA fix, timing fixes and something to do with Paula I can not work out.
@Animagic
The REV 2B board had a few timing bugs that needed to be fixed so that it worked with all A1200 accelerators.

Sure, go ahead :-) There are links to closeups on another thread.

I bought a 2B fixed motherboard from Eyetech, but the only mods I can see are connected around the PCMCIA slot. Is there anyway of checking if my 2B board is a later one that does not need the extra fixes?
The board works fine when it boots up, but I sometimes need to do ctrl+a+a a few times to get it to boot. I have tested with different PSU, IDE buffer and scandoubler to try and fix the problem. The only items not swapped are the keyboard adapter and an apollo 040.
Any ideas :-?

I got a A1200 rev 2b I know it was fixed by my local
Amiga supplyer MVB here in vic and I thought it was just a timing problem + the trap door expandtion issue dunno about the pcmcia slot having said that it worked fine with my PPC +Bviz along side my LAN card in the slot. possibly the timeing affects the pcmcia slot???

All rev 2B boards need a mod. I'm surpised your Apollo 040 works well with yours, mine did not.
The boot up problem, have you cut pin 1 of the IDE cable?

Thanx to all of you.

Mail me!
Another question coming up: I want to put an accereraton board (a 030 or 040 board - DEFINATELY A BLIZZARD), does anybody know if Blizzards work ok with Rev2B ?
Thanx again.

Hello,
The main modification for the timing fix is to remove 2 resistors from the underside of the PCB see
A1200 timing fix pic (http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/A1200-timingfix2.jpg)
Note: This pic has the resistors in place, another one has them removed (writing a guide ATM).

Too bad your server doesn't like direct linking to pics

I'm actually using Mozilla Firebird. But it works if I don't click it ;-)
Next time I open up my miggy I'll check if this mod has been applied to my mobo.
