Title: Indivision aga on wide LCD screen ?
Post by: lauri.lotvonen on February 13, 2010, 12:59:23 PM
How does the picture from Indivision AGA show on, lets say about 20" widescreen LCD. I have a 20" CRT monitor now that is getting really old and I was thinking of buying a new LCD one. My only concern is that the picture will look stretched on a wide screen, will it? Some black borders maybe?
If anyone has some pics of Indivision AGA running on wide lcd screen, please upload them. Thanks again :)

Yeah there is a driver for a widescreen, but you may be just as satisfied if you can get your hands on a 4:3 aspect LCD monitor.

I tried the HighGFX super mode, 1280 by something, but I thought it was just too sluggish. Gobbles up a lot of chip ram. Nice to look at though.

I think that the workbench will look fine, but what about the games etc. that run in lower resolution ?

That would depend on how your widescreen handles those modes.  Some have the option of not stretching the 4:3 image to fit the screen, you'd obviously have better results with that type.  There's always the issue of how your screen handles upscaling as well, though generally that's more of an issue with higher resolution things like Workbench than it is with games.
