IK+ will be the first.

I wonder how they will handle distributing Kickstart ROMs to everyone who downloads the emulator, and if these guys can do it how come Nintendo couldn't get Amiga added to the Virtual Console system in the Wii?
-
If they're actually porting it to run natively on the iPhone, it sounds like they can get away without Amiga ROMs (or the pesky emulator that Apple won't allow.)
edit: just read the article, maybe not...
-
hmm, last time I looked Apple don't let emulators onto the Iphone, unless your the company that owns the system, aka Sega.
I know they had support from the company that owns Commodore for the C64 Emu.
but um, I doubt the legal owners of the Amiga kick starts will give their support.
As with the C64 Emu, I think it will just be a crappy store, and you wont be able to play any other games. Or even get to workbench.

Dang I want some Miggy games for my Android phone. Iphone suck butt :)
-
Good news at least... was thinking about upgrading my iPhone yesterday, I guess i'll stick with it for the time being...

Actually there are already several iPhone ports of Amiga games:
Pinball Dreams
Pinball Fantaasies
Rick Dangerous
Super Methane Brothers
OnEscapee
Nicky Boom
and probably more :)

@ Moto
Thanks, I was about to point out the same thing! I've got both the Pinball games but didn't know Rick Dangerous or the others were available....
I've got to stay out of the iTunes store!

Ditto. I hate to think how much I've spent on the app store :nervous:

Don't forget "Beneath a Steel Sky" for iPhone!
@Amigakid, Yeah iPhones "suck butt" that's why all these cool ports are coming out for it instead of the android phone...

Most amiga floppy games actually don't use the OS for anything at all. Even if they do, it's trivial to write enough emulation to make it work.
For example UADE (http://zakalwe.fi/uade/) does not require the KS ROM, and is able to load and use native delitracker/eagleplayer replayers.
Even UAE itself includes some minimal ROM replacement that is able to launch some games even without a KS ROM.

Oh yeah! And Flashback :)

And Flight of the Amazon Queen.

I'm pretty sure Apple wouldn't allow it because you could run basic on it or something stupid like that :P

On Android, search for Emulators, and play games from nearly any platform...
Edit: For the sensitive among us, I removed wording that may have been taken as "bashing".
-
Is there any possibility of the word "iPhone" being used without it turning into yet another "my phone is better than yours" thread?

Yes, I agree, this bashing is becoming tedious!
Actually, I don't have a phone...I use the apps on an iPod Touch. No monthly fee. I hardly use my standard cell phone.

It is the internet, I am thinking no...
-
Any chance of you not whining when someone points out a benefit of another phone?
I didn't say anything about one being better than another...
I'm not whining, and don't particularly care what phones people like or don't like, or what they think of phones that I like. What does bother me is the number of threads on this site which are being diverted from polite discussion about one particular platform in favour of flame wars.

Eh, I edited my post anyway...
I didn't see much "bashing" going on...
