Looking to source a Commodore A2410 TIGA Graphics adapter.
-
Just wondering what use you found for one...
-
X-Windows on Amiga Unix!
-
I do have one... I never got it to do anything really exciting- I always figured there were better boards for that though.
-
It's the only board officially supported by Amiga Unix (out of the box, that is). Latter support for a few hraphics cards was released through the gateway CD (like the Picasso II), but the A2410 is the original dinosaur of graphics cards for the A3000UX and A2500UX...
-
There's info on using the Picasso II in Amiga UNIX here, I believe: http://amigaunix.com/tiki-index.php
-
Quoting amigaunix.com, pretty many cards do work:
at the moment the following boards are supported
- Domino 32K
- Domino 16M
- oMniBus
- Merlin (in ZorroII mode)
- Picasso II (only in linear mode)
- Piccolo (in ZorroII mode)
- Spectrum (in ZorroII mode)
The last four boards have blitter support, all boards support panning
of virtual/oversized screens.
-
But for that real authentic feel only the A2410 will do.
Honestly I'm just trying to rationalize why I still have mine :)
-
Yes, and wasn't it capable of 1024x1024 - huge in '91? OK, Visiona could beat it but the real RTG cards began to pop up in '92.
