:hammer: I need me some Worms DC action like now... I can't deal with this WhDdontload unstableness.
Any leads where to buy? Did that come on a CD ?
-
I have it. And i have been using with WHDLoad without any problems.
It came on disks and there was also an updatedisk (1.05 which replaced the first disk) for download.
The update (and the game) is available here http://www.dream17.co.uk/downloads.php?cat=1

I have it, too.... But that's an original I wouldn't even consider selling.
I can confirm it works fine from hard drive. I have no idea how I got it there, though. I think I just ran the installer off the disk back ages ago.
EDIT: It came on floppies, not a CD.

Perfect. Thanks my fryguy. You could HD install this sucker, that is great...
I'm gonna make up my own crazy sample set of me drunk and cussin !
-
I had worms once. Was not fun at all. Never had them on my hard drive, though...
-
I was going to make a joke about having worms and having the pull my arse along the carpet :)

Worms Armageddon is a million times better. They didn't make it for the Amiga though.... I have the CD if you want to borrow it...
I could never go back to the Amiga version after playing it.

I had that too on PC - it was way fun. I think my copy of it became so scraped up, That was the end of it....I can probably order that one somewhere...
"Butt on the carpet" , now that should not have made me laugh, but it did. And now I feel a little icky.

Does Worms Armageddon has the fatter Worms? I like the gfx from Worms (and DC) better.

Yeah, Worms: Armageddon is the best one out of the Worms 2 family. (The fat/stylized cartoon worms). It's a great game, no doubt there. There are even patches to get it working on modern hardware. I had it running on Windows 7 at one point, before my "old" motherboard blew a cap. (I'd expect that behavior out of a 15+ year old Amiga, not so much out of a 3 year old Gigabyte motherboard, but that's a different rant...).
Anyhow, I agree that the original Worms 1 (pixelized worms) was a bit more my style. And the best one out of that family is clearly Worms: The Directors Cut for Amiga. I seem to recall the original authors saying that when they finally had to exit the Amiga scene, they wanted to leave it with the best Worms 1 possible. I'd say they achieved that.

I've heard at least one source claim it has been released for free (link posted by someone else earlier in the topic) but nothing official from Team17 to confirm it. Anyone know anything more about this? I have the original Worms on Amiga and I'd love to get a legitimate copy of DC for the old girl.
-
Worms was released for CD32 .... but I could never get it working even on my CD32, let alone my miggies...
(Gotta love the Black on Black (TM) codesheet.....:madashell: )
Hey TheGoose: Let me know when you finish your "drunk and cussing" sample set for Worms.... I'd really like to try it out....

Worms World Party was even better.

My kids have all the worms games on pc. I have a couple for amiga, not sure what versions were available for amiga.
-
Yay! I got worms, the good kind. I used the link fryguy gave and used adf2disk, and a few floppies later it is installed and working great on the Indivision.

IMO Worms DC on the Amiga is the best version. I never liked the newer PC versions as much as the classic Amiga versions, and the extra features of DC made it so much better than the original.

@motorollin - yes, I like the game play on the Amiga, just very simple and fun. Just lost my first match, dang! Still lots of fun. This and a 12 pack and I am doomed!

Same here, although I had the original Amiga version (with black on black codebook). I've only played DC a couple of times.
While looking through a box of old certificates and stuff the other week I came across a handwritten list of "Awesomest Worms Levels" codes. That brought back many a good memory.
Ah yes, late 1997 - 2 weeks of GCSE mock exams - spending all of our "study leave" between exams around my mate's house having epic 2-on-2 Worms United battles on a Pentium 166.
*Sheds nostalgic tear*
