this is workbench 2 or something... on an a600 2.0 roms.
I just want to boot wb2 on a floppy so I can format a hard drive.... user-friendly my ass... ;)

Hallelujah!!!
Thanks!!
hey- bonus question- why isnt there a speech synth/say program in this edition of workbench? I thought that was the only cool thing wokbench had to offer!
;)

Say was dumped somewhere between 2.0 and 2.1. If you copy the translator.library, narrator.device, and say across to newer versions, it still works fine, though.
-
Ah, good old say. That brings back some good times. I used to have it read off text doc to friends, and also did some great prank calls in the day with it!
-
Oh, good times with. Say. Ever tried to get it to sing?

OH "Say" can you sing, from the start to the end,
What the audience stand for when the orchestra plays it...

Hi Everyone,
I once tried to make it talk like a klingon once.
It sounded more like a klingon got assmilated by a borg.
Good day to all Amigans! :-D

i had a conversation on the phone and every so often i'd get the program to say what i wanted to say
quite amusing, although very sad

@ HopperJF
Yep. I use that same technique to annoy telemarketers. :-)
@ tekyweky
Get a hold of either some WB 1.3 or 2.04 disks. Those will have all the files you need:
sys:utilities/Say
libs:translator.library
devs:narrator.device
l:speak-handler (if you want to create a SPEAK: DOSDriver)
