Title: Ps3 Finally Hacked
Post by: nikodr on January 24, 2010, 12:38:29 AM
http://geohotps3.blogspot.com/2010/01/hello-hypervisor-im-geohot.html

It seems the genius hacker that hacked iphone, managed to overcome the lock of sony.He seems to have finally managed to access the whole ps3 resources without the hypervisor stopping him. What does this mean?Practically that linux will get hardware access to the gfx card, homebrew applications (unasigned) can run from the game os and that maybe a port of hyperions os 4.x could go on to the playstation 3 platform.

Maybe a firmware war will begin with sony trying to close the hole. But i am so happy with these news!

This is great, can't wait to run XBMC on the PS3. That'd be awesome!

Great. Though I think morphos is MUCH more likely.  Hyperion seem to be going the suicide-through-hardware-production method of selling copies.

If you scroll down you will see that it says something regarding amiga os 4.x

" A Hyperion developer told me that not only has the OS been run on a PS3, but they have even tested support for the seven SPU units in the Cell processor. "

How long till amiga os is released on ps3 ?
Is there a contact email for hyperion ?I registered myself to the site.I wanted to ask them regarding this ps3 port. But there is not contact hyperion email.I think ps3 is a large part of the gaming/computer market.Hyperion could win much money by porting it to ps3.
