Title: Help with PPS 040
Post by: desantii on January 23, 2010, 01:19:40 AM
Hi, I recently got a PPS040 from a friendd but it is missing a chip. Is there any way to get this chip?

It is the one right above the CPU towards the right hand side (20 pin one), in the picture is the U202 one

thanks

I believe that's a programmable logic chip with stuff specific to the board.  Not likely to find one on eBay.

(I could be wrong on that, though.)

It's a PLD, thus it needs to be programmed. It's not impossible, but I imagine you'd have to copy the data from another chip (means finding another PPS 040 to borrow the chip from, and a GAL programmer). Maybe someone more familiar with those will chime in.

I think it's not the same as your PPS040 for A2000 and you must find similar card to copy the GAL !
It'll be hard to find it :(
