Hello!
If my memories are correct the Image Studio, or the Image FX can do the convertation automatically.
I don't know which one. Maybe both...
There is an internal converter(maybe AREXX?). You can choose it from menu. You have to add the pics then select the output format. I think you can put some effect on it like filters, blurs, etc.

If I remember correctly Hamlab could do that, but I'm not absolutely sure. It's been a looooong time since I used it :)
The question is if it's possible to get hold of Hamlab nowadays. There is a demoversion on aminet and a "multiple file selector". But I think the demo just makes images up to a certain size.

If you can get the Photoshop HAM-export plug-in to work with Paint shop pro, you could use PSP's batch-conversion feature.

the only program i tested and work is rend24 but i dont know the parameters to do a "batch" files, one a one is terrible!!! in the past ithe adpro i used for this but i dont remember... imagefx and hamlam+ i cant do this

@DaNi
The best software to do what you want is Image Studio. It will convert 24-bit iffs, jpegs, etc into HAM6, HAM8, with smaller palettes if required. You can also reduce the dimensions and a dozen other things. You can convert hundreds of images in batches without intervention. It's excellent.
Of course you need the registered version which has all these features unlocked. The demo version to be found on coverdisks, etc will not be suitable for your purpose.
Cheers,
JaX

@ DaNi
Easy one this, use Ultraconv V4, just select which
options and let it rip!

Download the NetPBM package from Aminet. Then use the "C:List" command to compile a ready-to-go convertion script using the LFORMAT parameter.
It's cheap, it works, and it's unbareably slow :-)
-
@Jetracer
even the PPC version of NetPBM?
If the commands are pure making them resident could speed it up.
-
Hi.
I just would like to tell you that not all converters will have good quality.
There are rare ones that use the copper to change the pallete "on the fly" and that gives you a true 24 bit image most times avoiding the so called HAM artifacts...
Don't remember names...
By the way, your no the only one interested in those kind of things, so don't give up! My problems is lack of time...

Ok, I havn't tested IFF and HAM8 convertion, but generally, it's very, very slow to decode to raw 24-bit and encode to *any* format. Even if it's done with all files in ram: and "Resident pure".
Ofcourse I assume these files are not 32x32 icons, but rather >640x512 backdrops?
