Title: Bad A2000 mouse port?
Post by: orb85750 on January 22, 2010, 05:07:24 PM
Any idea of the most likely cause of a non-working A2000 mouse port?  Otherwise, the machine seems to work quite well.  Thanks.

Non-working how? With a mouse or with a joystick? or either...

Check for 5v power between the center two pins of the bottom row of the connector. The mouse needs that to operate, joysticks don't. On later revisions of the 2000 motherboard, there is a fuse to protect the ports... earlier ones would sometimes vaporize a trace...

I haven't checked the voltages (or any joysticks).  It's a rev6 mobo.

Do the buttons work?

If so its probably a tiny fuse on the motherboard thats gone.

Hi, I had a problem with an A2000 mouse port myself a while ago, but managed to get it sorted :)
