Dear Amigans:
I am planning sometime in the future (when I have more cash) to get a a4000 comparable system. Instead of buying a used a4000, my plan is to buy a new tower case and a motherboard direct from software hut/amigakit. Buy every part, then put it together.
This way, all the parts be new and in good condition, I get my money's worth, and get a good amiga system.
Isn't this a good idea?
INstead of buying used complete system, a new tower case + motherboard + everything I need?
Any thoughts ?

Not necessarily. Separate motherboards will be hard to get.
Plus the Zorro slots wont work unless you use a custom Zorro daughterboard.
I have one on ebay at the minute:

Huh ????
SoftHut has complete "new" A4000Ts in stock (and at a price not so bad when one counts in the non-value of the $), so why go hunting for parts ?
But don't forget they are all NewOldStock, read made in 1996 and never been sold, but that would also apply for any "new" mobo you might get offered.
Unless offcourse you take in MiniMig and maybe Natami, the only real new Amigas since 1996.

Mind you, on a 2nd note one might want to add the GB1000, which is a new motherboard, but mostly based on parts 5 years older than those A4000T.
