Hello everyone, I just downloaded and installed the Amiga OS 4.1 upgrade. This indeed should light a new fire under all of us who are long-time Amiga users and to those who want become new ones.
To that end, I am offering the four copies of OS 4 .1 I have left in inventory for $129.95 each.
Remember I only have four copies to offer at this price. So it's first come first served…
Enjoy!

No offence but that is a rip off price for an operating system. If that is the price when it is on sale what is the full price?
I remember I paid about $50 for OS3.9.
Sorry but Amiga will die with these kinds of silly prices.

How else would you expect Hyperion to make profit enough to even continue developing? You cannot compare it with OS3.x, as userbase was significantly bigger back then. Hyperion has also invested alot more money than was done with 3.9. 3.9 was basically 3.1 with third party patches bundled with the package. There just isnt enough potential users to defend such a low price unless you want hyperion to go out of business. I hope the X1000 will boost the user base enough to get a bit lower prices.

@ Tomas
+1..I think after all Hyperion has done for the community especially this past year..the current price of OS4.1 is more than fair !

Well, I haven't seen any figures on that. The fact that it only runs on overpriced custom hardware rather than on the millions of Classic Amigas/IBM PCs/Macs might have something to do with the low userbase though. I mean, If you're selling an expensive OS that only runs on expensive custom hardware that really doubles the problem.

I can't believe this myth is still floating around. Yes, it did incorporate some components which had previously been separate (eg. web browser) but so what? There were also many enhancements to core OS components, which were done by H&P staff as part of the OS3.9 development process. I know this for a fact as I was involved in the development as a tester. Plus you can look at the changelog and see this.

That's a bit harsh.
