My new 17" TFT monitor should be arriving any day so I thought I'd set up the monitor driver in CGXMode tonight, so all I need to do is plug in my new monitor and be done with it.
After several hours banging my head on my desk, I've decided to ask to good people in the Amiga community for help.
OK, monitor specs are:
H-Freq: 30-80kHz
V-Freq: 55-75Hz
Dot Clock: 135
Maximum Resolution: 1280x1024
OK, looked at the CV64 specs, and it can do upto 1280x1024 at 75Hz in 16bit. Monitor manual states the recommended res should be 1280x1024 at 60Hz.
Excellent, it should work.
But I can't get the damn CGXMode (or Picasso96Mode TNG) to accept a resolution of 1280x1024 at 60Hz, or 70Hz.
CGXMode reduces the vertical size from 1024 to something like 889 and P96ModeTNG doesn't like it at all.
Does ANYONE have any ideas of what I can do here? Or is the new monitor destined to be hooked up to the PC?

@Slash
probably you have installed, the wrong Monitor type.
Reinstall again P96, and during the installation, choose the right setup for your monitor H-V max frequencies.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll give that a blast tomorrow. Never really thought of that. P96Mode TNG complains that the vertical sync isn't correct on the "computed" side of the window. It's highlighted and won't let me "Test" the screenmode.
Another question I've just thought of, if I change my setup in my A4000 and install a Mediator and a PCI gfx card, does that mean I won't be able to use any scandoubled screens though the voodoo from my internal scandoubler. Seems a bit crap if there isn't a way around this, short of keeping two monitors, which I ain't gonna do :-)

@Slash
ehh yes all that was a "must" of CV64.:-)
With a Voodoo, you must buy, those electronic switcher, that can do the job.

Thanks for the info Framiga, are you talking about one of those electronic auto monitor switches, does that take two signals and allow hooking them up to the one monitor?
Ah, just looked on Eyetechs website and you've got to switch it manually....oh dear. Not going down that route! Not after using an autoswitching gfx card for so long.
So it's either, slow CV64 and all my AGA screens or a fast Mediator and PC gfxcard with no AGA screens or old games...
