Hi
Don`t think the hard drive in this GVP has given up, given that I can hear it validating and setting after start. Sadly though after too many years to remember the A500 refused to boot from the GVP just giving me the disk insert screen. It has been cold in the workshop though....
Just wondered if anyone had had a sticking drive or reluctant GVP that sorted itself out eventually. Don`t want strip the stubborn thing cus I'm sure its just in need of a bit of TLC. Maybe a sharp tap.... The real question I guess is whether it could actually be the A500 thats causing the problem.
She is in the warm now so maybe try again this weekend.

I have had a hard drive refuse to boot due to extreme cold. Rare, but possible. Have you checked the GVP PSU? Not much else goes wrong with these things. I gather you don't have another SCSI hard drive to check it with? I tend to suspect the hard drive first...
