Never mind all that crap with Hypey Ron. I can't wait for this to come out:
http://amiga.com/shop/?prod_id=202&cat_id=43
You can use it to send messages and everything!!!
-
Ouch! A Inc. looks more lame everyday. It hurts to look.
-
Umm... wow...
-
Umm... wow...
I know. You can pick your own font and everything!!!!

Well, that is impressive.

<------shaking head in disbelief.

The only thing I use telnet for now days is for testing (smtp, http etc). A SSH client might have been a more practical application to have released. Not to mention, telnet is usually disabled on servers due to it being a security hole.
I wonder how many sales they will get.

I've found a use for Telnet... My File Server (http://www.serverelements.com/naslite.php) uses a telnet port for basic functions. Don't think I would need to do this from a friggin cell-phone, though. (telser.device + term works fine, assuming the HTML logs don't cover what I need to know, which all work fine in Ibrowse.)
-
Actually, using telnet on a CE device for things like checking routers/switches comes in pretty handy, and there are several telnet clients available for differentl mobile devices.
The harder part is getting a mobile device with a true serial port anymore..
It's not "by" Amiga inc tho. It's "by" Ruksun software.
Not sure why a Windows CE product is for sale on Amiga Inc, but..

I'm almost tempted to pick-up Mindwalker....didn't know they'd converted it for Windows.
-
This is probably the least useless thing they're selling right now.
But can I telnet into Snowman Maker for remote access? :)
-
Well, if the professional-looking image below is anything to go by, I'm sold!

Can somebody just buy these guys and get it over with? The really can't be worth more than £320. Buy them, sign them over to Hyperion, Go home, eat some crisps.

It's right up there with "Tesco Value" labelling. Except the latter actually looks more professional

What did tesco over do to you to be compared to this shite?
Does the name Telnet force remind you of anything (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3roS8cJRGEk)?

I think we should raise a fund and buy out Amiga Inc.

I think we should raise a fund and buy out Amiga Inc.
Here here.
Although didn't Hypey Ron try and buy them before, and Billy boy asked for some crazy figure??
-
Are they using Amiga Inc. for some evil things? I can't see how they are making a profit. The company seems like a money sucker. I mean with the Amiga name, even if they created a minimig in form of a joystick with Sensible Soccer installed, they would be making a huge profit. What are they doing?

No that would be DiscreetFX, and the mysterious owner of this website.

Its some type of tax scam. Scumbags.
-
Besides, all they really have is the amiga.com domain name. It`s gotta be worth CONSIDERABLY less than the 10 grand Wayne got for this site.

Why?

I'll be honest, I've never taken the amiga.com site seriously. By the time it appeared, basically, all that was really left was the community and a few 3rd party hardware/software producers. As such, sites like this have always had more relevance to me.
-
Why?

So that they no longer humiliate and trivialize the Amiga name? :)

Ok who wants to be in my new band "Telnet FORCE" ?
We will be Fierce with punk in-sensibilities!
-
Why?

Because they own the rights to the logo, name, branding, etc. That and the bastards actually pretend on their site to have actually developed the amiga, and that doesn't stand.
So yeah, Are we actually gonna do it or what? Say, £5 each, then branch out to the other amiga sites? What's a realistic goal? Amiga inc can't be worth anything.
The alternative is to wait until the domain expires and grab it first.

Amiga development India
hmmm... I am the only one thinking, that maybe outsourcing isnt all that good?

I'm noticing they all have Amiga Development India listed under "Past". Some of them left long before the change from Ruksun to ADI, but a few are more recent departures. Wonder if that has anything to do with ADI's financial health, or simply the paths their careers have taken?
-
I have to mention that educated people from India tend to be extremely intelligent.
-
Linked in has 3 current employees of ADI, all three want their names kept private....

Man have you read some of the tripe that is on the site?
"Solutions for digital living"
Pfft.
These guys have the "solution for digital living" http://www.digitallivingsolutions.co.uk/
-
I use telnet quite a lot for BBSing but I'm usng Linux or Windows for that and theres already some really good clients available.
They need to let go of the Amiga name already.
-
Omg....I wish they would close that website for good or sell it to someone who actually does business...
This is beyond clown acts and i'm sure clowns would be offended by my remark ;)
