HELP!!!!!!!
I cannot seem to get a ST19171W drive to work on an A3000. The HDToolbox says device not supported.
I thought it might be the crappy SCSI on A3k, but I get the same result on a GVP SCSI Zorro Card........
The GVP software *does* see the drive, but says it is 0mb capacity.
Ideas?

What size is the SCSI drive?
If its to big (Above 4Gig?) you have to either change the filesystem or upgrade to OS3.5..
-
IT DOESNT EVEN SEE THE F*** DRIVE!!!!!
How can I use *any* FS if I can't even 'install' it in HDToolbox.
???

Both Hard Drive controllers you tried are based around the same Western Digital chipset. It may seem the the drive is too modern for the chip though newer SCSI drives should be backwards compatible to older SCSI standards. Another thing to check would be the revision of the SCSI chip on the controllers. If they're revision 04 that may have something to do with it. In that case, upgrade the chip to revision 08 and see if that helps.
Otherwise, I would suggest trying the drive on a controller based around a different chipset and see if it that works.

I have a UW SCSI disk (68 pin) working with the rest of the narrow (50
pin) devices on my A4000T's narrow SCSI controller.
It's a bit weird, I found you have to ENABLE termination on the UW
disk, even though it's in the middle of the SCSI chain, or the drive
would not be seen on the controller.
I still have standard termination at either end of the SCSI chain as
well though, system runs perfectly.
