Is that a netbook class machine? Where can they be purchased?
-
Tone007, you rock, but yeah... what the heck are we looking at? AROS on an Aspire or something? Gots to give us Amiga folk the inside poop scoop man! lol
And what kind of CPU board is sitting underneath that Netbook? Almost looks like a stubbier A2000 mobo, but I see surface mounted IC's on it...
-
It's actually a factory sample from these guys. http://www.commodore-evolution.com/index.html No idea if they're ever going to come out with any more.
Got a couple other models lying around here too, the one with the light-up Commodore logo is particularly nice.

Nice fingerprint magnet!

Ahhh... I was duped. Upon further examination, just looks like some version of Windows with an OS3.9 backdrop... lol
I'd like to hear more about people using AROS on the Acer Netbook, how it compares to MorphOS on a MacMini, etc. Guess I'll have to let my fingers do the walkin'...

I hate that phrase, "Get Boinged".
Pfft.

Actually, it's AmiKit (great WinUAE setup.)
-
Amikit is nice, especially if you remove the windows shell and just boot straight into it... You never even know it has windows underneath once its setup nice like that.
Windows only good purpose is hosting amikit or winuae. Running it for anything else, is a waste of a perfectly good computer.

I use Aros on this A1600 netbook and on an Acer Aspire and it's great. It's become my main OS of choice before OS3 and Linux now. I haven't used MorphOS though, but I know it's lightyears ahead of Aros in many deparments, yet Aros is surely catching up, we potentially have many more developers than other Amiga OSs, we just need to get them on board!
Who actually owns a PC but hasn't installed Aros/Icaros on it yet? I had to go out and buy my first PC (this A1600) just to run it, but I know plenty of you already have PCs but prefer to complain about the lack of a native Amiga OS for it than actually try the one that exists.

You know things are rough when you use a A4000T motherboard as a TABLE..
duh..what are you thinking man!!

That *is* an A4000 mobo huh? I guess I recognize the Kickstart chips toward the top and the CPU slot down further, but the daughtercard must be laying on its side toward the bottom. That's what threw me off originally. LOL! Good one Tone ;)

I'm thinking it made a good photo.

4000T, no daughterboard. Original C= one, too, none of this Amiga Technologies stuff.

tone!! You gave us those awesome Commodore Gaming cases, get us some of these too!

Any news when we can actually go and buy one of these? That website you linked isn't even finished. Lazy arses.
