For those who showed interest for a user group in the East Midlands Area, well the website is up.
Its running on an old A4000 that I don't think has ever been left turned on this long.
EMAG Website (http://www.emag.me.uk)
Details for the first meet and a map is available.
mmm :pint:
A big thank you to linchpin, who will also be coming.
:-D
-
Good luck with your newly formed user-group :-)
-
mmmm beer :-)
-
Hopefully I'll try and make it. However
1) Its a Friday and just doing the few miles on the M1 might take an age, thus I would be late. (Finnish work at 6:30pm, Derby-> home->tea->Nottingham).
2) I can't drink alcohol :-( :-( :-(
3) I can be a tart and drink lemonade instead! :))
4) I dont have a beard!
5) I can only provide made up experiences on owning an AmigaOne+OS4 :-)
Oh and : "All Your Amiga Belong to Us".... :-D
-
Cool, I may pop allong then althought I've not been doing anything on the amiga front for a while, I may not have much to say...
-
BUT THERE WILL BE BEER!

I'll take your word for it rather than some silly site :-)

@lorddef
Hmm well we will proberbly be wrecked lol so look for the guys one lurching on the floor in a drunken fit proberbly with amiga logos badly drawn on our heads with darts board chalk.

Jackal:

I hear you.
1) I've either got to: finish work at 6pm in notts -> S Derbys -> water/feed ->back to notts
or: go straight from work & hang around for you all to arrive, drinking lager shandy, wearing a shirt & tie.
2) I also won't be able to drink (see above)!
4) I don't have a beard either! Is this necessary? I could have one by the 28th though. Would a photo of me previously having a beard (or at least very unshaven) qualify? What about a false beard (and a packet of gravel)? This rule seems rather unfair to women too (well some of them....).
5) Me 2. I haven't use my 4000 for a while either. Me & lorddef will have to sit together at the 'naughty' table.
And finally, to give this post a point - anyone know anywhere good to park? Has the pub got a car park or is there anything close by? I've never been there.
And with it being a friday i'll be at the mercy of my girlfriend's whims anyway.
Martyn.
-
Well my missus will proberbly be there, tis cool :-)
Come along BEER BEER BEER heheheh
-
Good places to park in notts are rare tbh, now there are little meter things everywhere. If you don't mind a 15 minute walk into town then Sainsburys car park in castle marina is usually a good option.
Else there are always the pay car park in Trinity square.
-
NO CAR
BEER BEER BEER
-
That url shows stats for the people who do the redirection for me. Thats their server. I have the option to have them host it but that cost money.
I have web forwarding option that translates to my cable modems host name, through my router / wirewall to the A4000
As for car park, trinity square cark park is the nearest. Try to avoid peel st, dryden street, shakespear street or anywhere round trent uni.
Its getting targeted by car theives who just to rummage through your car for any of any value.
Trinity square is a secure car park IIRC
There is a bus onto upper parlament street thats runs back to derby every hour until 1AM IIRC
I'll find out the details.
I go riding in derby / chelaston every now and again.

BUT more importantly.. whats the beer like dude? Heh Heh!
-
Ah, that explains it :)
The link here (http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=http%3A%2F%2Fcpc3-basf4-5-0-cust202.nott.cable.ntl.com%2F) shows the sites actual host.
So seriously are there any other plans than just "BEER", s it's beginning to just sound like an amiga pissup group. Which actually dowsn't sound bad either :)
-
Sorry im an alcoholic :-)
I may bring me amiga pint glass!
(its a joke)
-
I'll be coming up from Stafford, anyone needs a ride, PM me and i'll sort something out....
I reckon A50, M1 has to be the best bet.....
-
No the initiation ceremony is while dancing to dirty by christina and pole dancing on a lamppost we get to heavily soaked you with a can of amicola outside the masonic hall.
Hope fully more serious things like show etc. are going to happen, but first people have got to meet and what better place than a pub.
-
A lap dancing club?

Riding? As in horses? My girlfriend (in my avatar) owns a riding school just north of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
Always looking for new business!

No. She probably knows my Ex she was was into horses and eventing round the midlands.
Only one type of riding for me and linchpin will agree here.
And I actually landed it as well :-D
-
If you look my back wheel is above carls head but im pulling a 540 inverted tailwhip.
-
I've seen some nasty (and some funny) falls that happen to bmx and skaters.
-
@lorddef
Dont go there dude... dont go there!
I quit riding BMX (well not totally, i lost my nerve) after an accident at a local skate park, basically shot down a roll in, jumped a fun-box and cleared the landin completley (bad move that), bike was vertial in the air so landed on the back wheel, skidded out and hit my head on the floor. Thats when it all went dark. Woke up a couple of mins later (according to the lads), feeling dizzy but ok. Head was a little stingy so i put my hand on it, it felt wet. Very wet. Also then i noticed my shirt was covered in blood, had a slit along the back of my head about 2.5 inches long, still seeing stars headed off in the ambulance. Kinda lost my nerve after that, bone breaks are ok but head injuries are scary. Makes me cringe to see extreme sports injuries. Still love the sport tho, and can still feel the scar in my hair :-=)
-
Yeh, scars may add character, but I'm just too much of a wuss to even attempt anything like that, I mean nasty #### is inevitable. I have enough nasty accidents as it is let alone doing something like that.

And it happens... like linchy you can give up and let fear get the better of you or you can just get back on and try again.
When linchy moves up this way... he'll have no excuses i'll make him ride.
mmm let me see
Almost lost an eye with my seat.
got a peg stuck in my stomach
broke right leg twice... second time tibia and fibia in a total of 8 places... couldn't walk for 6 months.
dilocated right shoulder
broke right ankle
sprained ankles countless times
too many small scars from pedals to mention
compressed disc in spine
cut cheek.
etc etc
-
Hee Hee.. i may have lost my barcklaycards, but i aint sold my bike muhahahaha
-
lol, yeh I guess you are right JC, if you love what you do I'm sure it's worth whatever comes with it.
Anyway I'm sure there’s so much adrenaline you don't feel anything at the time anyway, but it sure smarts afterwards; that’s always the case
-
And with it being a friday i'll be at the mercy of my girlfriend's whims anyway.
Yep, that might be my problem too + I always seem to get lost when I go to Nottingham :-? .
I'll see if I can make it nearer the time.
-
Why dont you become speedway riders and then yaz can do the job properly !!
:-o
:-D :-D
-
But the beer will be tasting mighty fine. Thats all you need to know. Beer. More Beer, And possibly a packet of peanuts.
