"Rear trapdoor is omitted from these units"

Are these the mythical Chinese units??  Never heard of a CD32 without a trapdoor slot...

(i suppose it`s not really a trapdoor slot, but still...)

Probably just means the plastic piece is not included. I am sure there is an expansion port.

I've got one "Chinese" CD32 at home for a couple of weeks, they have expansion slot. I can tell. The only noticeable difference between the PAL and NTSC model is the different default video mode, plus the "Commodore CD32" logo painted in white for NTSC, and carved for the PAL model.

I think the rear door is missing from a lot of CD32s because a lot were sold to companies that used them in a setup with the SX-1 expansion. Scala sold a rack mount unit which, when you opened it, was a CD32, an unbadged SX-1 (case made out of bare metal) and a custom powersuply to allow you to plug it in using a standard power cord.
