Title: 3D Stars Released
Post by: SysAdmin on December 25, 2009, 06:21:24 AM
Forget Hyperions's most ambitious project there is something much more exciting right here right now.

Yes, 3D Stars has been released and is available on OS4 Depot and Aminet.

Using accurate stellar distance data derived from the Hipparcos satellite, you are able to make an interstellar journey at warp speeds far beyond the solar system.

If you happen to have any red-blue or red-green 3D glasses then switch to stereo viewing mode to view your stellar neighbourhood in glorious 3D.

Download 3D Stars from
OS4 Depot (http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=utility/scientific/3d_stars.lha) and Aminet.

I wonder what a port of Celestia would take?

I can spend hours exploring our own solar neighbourhood in that application, especially after getting some of the high definition maps. Just check out Mars in HD (http://extropia.co.uk/img/mars_hd.jpg)...
