Is everyone aware of The MOD Station, launched in November?

We are now :)

Nice :)
Can be made play with TuneNet?

Geat idea, and cool site... but what's with the JPEG images?! Haven't people learned by now to use lossless image formats for images less than 24bit? Those Workbench windows would look so much nicer as PNGs.
Wait... they ARE PNGs! So this means they were saved as low-quality JPEGs, loaded back in, and resaved as PNGs with all the horrible JPEG artifacts in them.

Go easy on the poor guy. He has accurately recreated the Amiga experience a la composite :)

Hehe, sorry I didn't mean to seem harsh, the site is nice and useful, and sure does have that look of an old TV. Little things like that have always just bugged me, I should keep it to myself, sorry.

Missed this thread originally!
Hi all, I'm the owner/operator/dogsbody of The MOD Station. I was waiting to announce the station until I had it fully functional., there's a big content update coming very soon and also the ability to request music directly into the stream. Stay tuned.
p.s (cammy :) ) the front end site will be corrected and redesigned with the update.
pp.s the request update will also be applied to The SID staion, for you 64 nuts.

awesome job Bongo! Would be cool if the pic displayed on the lower right coincides with the track being played.

I agree and had already thought of that but, I can't find a way of making it update with the stream info. Not sure it's at all possible.
If anyone out there thinks they know how, let me know :)

I know you're using the mpga audio codec, but does your media streaming engine allow you the facility of perhaps display a "cd cover" + audio file that way you could display the image inside the media player.
You could use x-ms-asf as a container to then stream video/audio if the bandwidth is not much greater it might be a feasible option.
There's some old code here that maybe of use: http://amigarealm.whdownload.com/various/webcam.htm
/me listens to The ModStation.

@Skippy on your first post: I had considered the album art angle, but never got it to work. Think I'll haver another look as the request engine will totally change the way the station streams. Thanks for the link too... reads.
On the point of the links, yep you're right. Consider yourself a beta tester :) changes will be made.
Not to make exuses for myself but although the passion for doing this is there, I've had to learn it all from scratch (including web design/programming) so any help or critisism is greatly appriciated.

I wasn't aware at first you were using the SHOUTcast software, so yeah, it would require a complete restructure of service delivery.
