Title: Free stuff
Post by: gdanko on December 06, 2009, 03:23:03 PM
I am thinning out my collection. Do I really need 5 A2500s, etc? :) So I am giving away a lot of stuff. The one thing you will find different about my stuff is the condition. I am a *very* discriminating collector. I don't collect yellowed stuff.. I restored everything as close to factory original condition as I could. I don't know the extent of what I am going to let go but it will be a good amount. Computers, monitors, floppy drives, expansion cards, etc.

Here is the catch, you have to come get it. I will not.. WILL NOT ship. I do not have the time or energy to ship anything anywhere. I work a full time job and a part time job, and I have a small son. Any requests to ship WILL BE IGNORED. I have already PM'd one guy who has in the past been willing to drive down here to get stuff and he gets first shot at it.

Why not eBay? One, the Amiga community has been very kind to me and it would be unethical to try to sell on ePay. Plus, I don't want to ship.

Am I leaving the Amiga community? NO WAY. I just have way too many.. maybe 20 Amigas now.

Please respond to this thread if you can drive to North San Diego County to pick things up. Have a vehicle large enough to haul it. Please do not PM me because aorg doesn't notify me when I get PMs for some reason.

I have thought about it and I will ship but it has to be worth my while. If you want to pay me $500 USD + materials/freight I will ship. I can sort through everything and give an approximate idea of what I am letting go and that way you'd know. Off the top of my head it looks like.

2-3 A500s
1 A1000
2-3 A2000, maybe a 2500
1 A3000
1 C128 new in box
1-2 1080/1084 type monitors
1 Atari ST color monitor
1 Atari ST class computer (the model escapes me)
Tons of manuals, books
Accessories including soundboards, accelerators, midi devices, floppy drives and the like. I think I have 3+ tubs full of these types of accessories.

I should really take inventory.

Desantii, the 500s are indeed stock. 2000 may have an 030 or 040 but I do not remember. It's been awhile. You can get an idea of how clean my machines are here. I am one of the more meticulous collectors out there.

Ugh people are STILL emailing me asking me to split it up. Let me make this clear. Unless I personally offer one of you something from the list, which I have done, make no mistakes. I will not split it up. You MUST... MUST... MUST come get the lot.

Unless you want to pay me the 500 USD plus all material/freight costs, I WILL NOT ship. I am not trying to be harsh but do not waste my time asking me to do anything differently than what I have outlined. I feel my offer is very generous and for you to disregard my wishes and ask me to cater to your desires is rude and disrespectful.

I will lay it out one more time.

1) Unless I specifically contact you and offer you specific piece, I will not split it up.
2) Shipping will occur ONLY if you pay for all materials/freight charges and add $500 USD for my time and efforts.

The price is as low as I can get it as is, try getting a lot like this, in the condition my stuff is on eBay. It will cost well above the $500 I am demanding to ship my stuff. Please be respectful and don't email me with, "if you decide to change your mind".. If I change my mind I will certainly post it here.

The fellow I PM'd first has committed to driving down to come get it. As of now I have a taker. If he is somehow unable to come get it, everything is still available.
