Unforeseen, as in "unforeseen" that MorphOS would announce that it would soon be released with support for the new G4 PowerMac in your signature line?
Congrats on getting a G4 PowerMac! I can't wait to see some benchmarks that compare the performance of MorphOS on the G4 PowerMac against MorphOS on the Pegasos2 and G4 MacMini.
-
That, and a big electricity bill :)
-
Ok shipping is free everywhere :)
I also consider Part Exchange with a Minimig.
-
Price drop!
210 Euro + shipping.
-
210.00 EUR = 311.924 USD
too rich for my blood... :(
-
..but a very fair price for that card.

There is one on CraigsList for $150. Do a search nationwide.
-
Problem is that the USD is too cheap - I am in Europe, so selling it at 150 USD would be like throwing it away.

What something sells for in a local area sale means absolutely nothing in a worldwide market.
-
there's also the question of credibility of buying from someone in craiglist. do they have accounts there ? will you see the seller again after you buy the item ? is there somekind of feedback ?
-
Now on ebay:

Thanks!

Yeah, on craigslist you get to actually MEET the person and not rely on some completely bs trust such as post count or friend of some other random guy on the internet.

Hi,
I have an A500. If I bought a toolbox(which adds 2 Zorro II slots, allowing use of A2000 cards) would I be able to use the Picasso with my 500, and would it be 100% compatible?
-
Yes, but you need a 020 processor upgrade to get the RTG system to work - just the original slow Picasso driver works with 68000 processor.
-
Cool, the 020 replacement is fairly straight-forward though, right? You just pull out the 68000 and slot in the 020, no soldering as far as I know.

No you wouldn't. First off, you would need to hack a videoslot in that toolbox thing, without it the Picasso IV looses much of it's value. Apart from that, you would only be using it in Zorro II mode. You would be far better off with a Picasso II. Combined with an Indivision ECS you would have a great setup.
Technically the Picasso IV might work, you just wouldn't be doing it justice by not utilizing it 100%.
You would ofcourse still need an accelerator, and no, you can't swap a 68000 with a 68020, it requires a turbocard. Expect to fork out more cash...

A possible solution?
"If the Picasso IV is intended for use in an A2000, the flicker fixer can actually be "snapped" from the card and joined to it by a ribbon cable. This is because the A2000 does not have an inline video slot, like other models"

Lol, sounds like this may be more trouble than it's worth, though. Now I just need to track down a Viper 530...

For a do it yourself man the video slot connections can be made to Denise chip - there was an adapter made by VillageTronic (which I have) to make PicassoIV to work with an A500 or in A2000 without need to snap the main board of PicassoIV.
