I am tempted getting a Minimig, perhaps with the ARM controller. It seems that the said ARM controller is pretty much impossible to get hold of. I have also taken a look at minimig.net but there is nothing but tumbleweed there :(
Whats going on? Is minimig dead, or everyone is holding his breath for the next big thing?

Hi there: well, actually i dont consider the Minimig scene as "dead". Actually, there has been a lot of talking about a Minimig 2.0 or 1.2 (whatever is it called).
Illuwatar, a guy from Sweden is the one to get in touch to know a little more.
Also, some are speculating about FPGArcade, which "seems" to be better than Minimig...
And, concerningn ARM controller, yaqube is your man. Get in touch with him. He is the one who did the ARM controller and i think he might still have some for sale
Regards
Sebastian

At least Tumbleweed is there, I was afraid it was dead completely :D

We're hard at work making software that will run very nicely on MiniMigs, including a modern Workbench HDF pack specifically designed to run on MiniMigs with ARM controllers, and lots of games too.
Things might be quiet now, but 2010 is going to rock.

C-one has minimig support with HD file support in the latest version.

From the site.
Tobias Gubener has done it again: A new port of Minimig is available in the download section of this website. V2.0 is based on Jakub Bednarski's sources of september 2009. Features include:
* emulation of four floppy drives (DF0: to DF3:)
* emulation of two harddrives using two image files of up to 4GB each
* FAT16 or FAT32 supported for the CF card
* long filenames for ADF images allowed
* max. memory 11.5MB: 2MB chipmem, 1.5MB slowmem and up to 8MB fast at the same time!
* horizontal and vertical image interpolation in VGA 31kHz mode
* scanline effect emulation like on Indivision flickerfixers
While some of these features cannot be used on the original Minimig hardware at all, others are possible using Jakub's ARM board as a replacement for the PIC chip. However, Tobias' implementation uses a different approach: A second instance of the 68000 processor replaces the ARM processor. This makes the C-One with FPGA extender the best-equipped Minimig on the market!

Excellent, Cammy!
Now where can I get that controller???
Looking forward to the new year!

You sound like Bill.

You sound like Bill.
Bill? Which Bill would that be? I don't think she sounds like any Bill, and she is much cuter than any Bill you are ever going to meet. Nice news Cammy, will be looking forward to seeing what your group comes out with in the near future.
@omnicron, interesting news regarding the MiniMig cores on the C-One computer. Makes keeping your C-One much more worthwhile, doesn't it? Thanks again for bringing it to AmiWest 2009 for the Amiga Game Competition, it worked great.

The whole idea of the C-One is to be able to run multiple cores. This latest Minimig core is the core from the DE1 ported over. Has some nice upgrades but the best thing are some of the fixes for actual Amiga compatibility. A lot of software that did not run on the Minimig 1 core now work. Having a HDF also is pretty nice but to do that they removed the IDE port support in this version or more accurately, did not add it. They used the DE1 HDF support instead which I think will work out nicely. So far the C64 core is great, amiga cores are as good as the minimig, and CPC is one of the best in existance! It is a pretty fun system.

Hmm it seems to be pretty expensive though at more than 300 euro. Whatabout the upcoming ArcadeFPGA? Also, whats the word on Clone-A?
-
It is a bit expensive. It has a C64 cart port, IEC port, two SID sockets, A1200 clockport (not used), FPGA upgrade port, PS2 mouse and KB, C64/Amiga DB9 joystick/mouse ports, IDE and Floppy headers and a few more things.
Nothing else compares in that regard. The FPGA upgrade board (standard on new purchases I believe) has a core three times larger than the Minimig 1.1 board with more RAM.
FPGA Arcade will be a nice board but it is not available yet and I dont see prices listed on the site. I don't think it will be two cheap.
There is a lot of potential on the C-one that is not being used yet. Fun toy.
