Title: WTT: ScanMagic Internal Scandoubler
Post by: dougal on December 04, 2009, 08:01:15 AM
I have an Internal ScanMagic scandoubler made by DCE computing.

It is for use in an A1200 or A4000D. It works perfectly and was previously fitted in my A4000D giving me a really nice display on my 17" VGA CRT and a very decent display on my 22" LCD.

I need a Scandoubler for my A4000T (this one is A4000/A1200 Only), so i would like to know if there is anyone willing to trade either an external scandoubler or else one that goes in the video slot or something. Important is that i will be able to use workbench and play games using a VGA monitor.

Like i said, if you have an A1200 or A4000D this one is a brilliant scandoubler.

Feel free to contact me.

My friend: if you decide to sell it, i might have a buyer, one of the Argentinian Amiga users i know. Of course, first decide wheter to keep it or not, and then how much $$$ would you like for the card

Kind Regards

Sebastian

PD: im the same on Amibay ;)

I take it you actually have a FlickerMagic as ScanMagic boards traditionally don't do de-interlacing (flicker fixing)?

It was pretty good when it came out but it has been surpassed these days by the Indivision AGA 4000 (and a few others).

Scan/Flicker Magic boards are not 24-bit so you loose colours in AGA modes and they doen't work (in PAL mode) with half the LCD's out there because the refresh rate is fixed at 50Hz and most LCD's have a minimum refresh of 56Hz

I guess it is a FlickerMagic because i was told when you have 4 chips on the main pcb it means it is also a flicker fixer. Plus it gave me a nice non-interlaced display using hi-res interlaced on my 17inch CRT VGA monitor.
