Hello all!
Does anyone know, is there compatibility problem with model A Amiga 2000 keyboard, when used in model B Amiga 2000? I recently stumbled to problem where my keyboard jamms after one input in certain games. I was trying to connect my A500 keyboard to A2000, but I can't hook it up right. So anyone out there, please tell me how to connect A500 keyboard to 2000. I have electrical diagrams for both machines, so I connected;
A500 pin 1 (data) to A2000 pin 2 (data)
A500 pin 2 (clock) to A2000 pin 1 (clock)
A500 pin 4 (+5V) to A2000 pin 5 (+5V)
A500 pin 6 (ground)to A2000 pin 4 (grnd.)
Machine boot up normally, but keyboard prints just " ' " letter without my assistance. Caps lock will go on and off normally when pressed. So what did I do wrong, or what should I connect to make this puppy work?

Yep, had the very same problem with a 2000A keyboard (square LED on the front of the caps lock key) hooked up to my 500. The only way to get around it was to switch back to the original keyboard (the adapter I built had a switch from the start).
Should really work the same way with a 500 kb on a 2000 - I guess you mixed up clock & data. Actually, all Amiga keyboards work the same. The only difference is the reset signal which is encoded with a long clock low on some and a separate line on others.
I've been told that you can actually attach more than a single keyboard at once w/o switching, but I've never tried that.

You were right, thank you! I indeed somehow managed to crossconnect clock and data wires...Now keyboard doesn't jam in games with A500 keyboard connected.

I'm glad I could help. ;)
