Someone gave me a free NTSC A500. I checked it out: 68000 CPU, ROM 1.3, ver. 5 m/b. But what puzzled me was a little board sandwiched on top of Gary, reading in small print "Phoebe II" & in larger print ICD, Inc. It has 3 jumpers, 1 of which is for "Agnus". It also has an insulated wire running from it to the middle of JP2, which is located in between the ROM & CPU. This little board has a DIP-like 10-connector with a flat-ribbon wire running from it to the other end, about 4 - 5 inches to another DIP-like connector connected to nothing. What's this for & what do you think was connected to it previously?
I tried to use http://amiga.resource.cx , but it doesn't seem to be up any more...bummer!

With that name nothing - here you see the ICD products in amiga resource:

How about some photos of the unit inside the case and by itself, both sides? Can't find anything in The Big Book of Amiga Hardware either. The closest image I could find to your description: http://bboah.amiga-resistance.info/cgi-bin/showhardware_en.cgi?HARDID=1015
Could it be part of the ICD AdRam540 ?

Ooo, good guess.
I had an AdRAM 540 around here missing one of those.

Well, I looked long & hard at the top part. It looks so much like what I've got. I built up enough nerve to remove it from the Gary socket &, lo & behold, on its underside, it read " ICD AdRAM 540". Bingo! You hit the nail on the head! It's missing its trap door RAM part that it plugs into. Does anyone out there have the other part of this kit that they're either looking to sell or buy this part from me?
