Title: usb sound "cards", network adapters, and deneb

I have a 2000 with a 68030 board and a deneb.  I'm planning to attach a keyboard, mouse, and flash card reader, all of which I think should be no-brainers.  But I worry about the network adapter and sound card.

For the network adapter, do they all work?  Or do I need a specific make and model with the right chipsets?  Is there a tutorial out there somewhere for this?

And for the sound card, same question.  What's inexpensive that works?  Do any have a dsp that would allow mp3 playback?  What software out there could take advantage of a usb sound card?  I've only done protracker type software for the amiga.  Is there more complicated software that would have more than 4 channels for example?

Also, what about usb joysticks/game pads?  can they take over the db-9 port and act as if they're installed there?

Sorry for hijacking your thread... but you mention keyboard and mouse.... Will these work with games?

Well, you should read the poseidon guide included in the poseidon archive. You can't use any ethernet adapter, there are specific supported chipsets as per the document I just mentioned.
 
As for a tutorial for the configuration, do it like you do with any other SANA-II device/TCP Stack, however you won't see any file for the driver in sys:devs/networks, the device (according to the chipset you're using) will be resident in memory.

Even if they do, I don't think there's any support for such decoding hardware.

I have a Deneb in my A4000, using keyboard, mouse, soundcard and SD card reader. The keyboard and mouse are actually a wireless PS/2 combo connected to an off-the-shelf USB->keyboard&mouse cable, and the soundcard is the first one I could find in the local cheap computer stuff shop, and supports 16-bit 44KHz audio no problem, but you may struggle with the speed with a 68030. As they only cost a tenner or so, though, you may as well try!

Thanks to everyone who replied.  

For my 1200, maybe instead of using a usb keyboard and mouse (via subway), I should use something like the lyra and cocolino?  That way the amiga has no choice but to use the new keyboard and mouse, even if I boot from a floppy.
