Title: about LCD monitors

there is an interesting discussion on slashdot about using LCD monitors with low res games:

That is interesting.  I just recently hooked up the Amiga to a 20" 4:3 LCD (12x10) panel and I must say that it's a problem getting things to look right.  Text is very blurry and there's no way to turn the "automagic" scaling features off.

I still have an HD (CRT) television in my house and everything that I throw at it looks great.  I guess it's a matter of LCDs having fixed pixel whereas CRTs can make a nice pixel any size it needs.  Perhaps once LCD resolutions get so incredibly high we'll be able to make any resolution possible and it won't matter.

That same issue bugged me as hell for a while...until I shelled out for an Indivision ECS. I hooked up few high-end CRTs (FDTrinitron tube) and "classic" 5:4 LCDs...CRT throws a bit smoother pixel print compared to LCD, but it's obvious IECS has some clever antialiasing stuff mimicking CRT native color blending...
In fact, it's good enough I won't look back for good.
