Title: Any support materials for a PPI Zeus 68040?
Post by: Huxley_D on November 13, 2009, 02:24:00 AM
Hi guys,

As you might have read in another thread, I'm on an epic journey to get my A2000 running smoothly.  As part of my effort to consolidate my gear, I'd like to use the onboard SCSI (both internal and external) from my Progressive Peripherals Zeus '040 board, rather than the GVP A4000 HC+8 I've been using.

I have the Zeus board installed and working nicely (from a CPU upgrade perspective), but I'm unable to get anywhere with its SCSI connections - anything I plug into them isn't seen by any of the software I have, and it won't boot from an otherwise-bootable HDD when it's connected to the Zeus.  I'm honestly not sure if my problem centers around a jumper setting or a driver issue.

When I first got my SCSI CD-ROM drive working, the essential step was to click on the "CD0" icon in the Workbench and go into the Information box, and use gvpscsi.device - does anyone know the equivalent command or syntax for the Zeus board?

I'm wondering if anyone has a manual (scan would be awesome, but paper could work too) for the Zeus, or if anyone else is using one (with SCSI) and could share the details of their setup, that would be really awesome.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Huxley

Zeus SCSI device name should be PPSscsi2.device.

Hmm - amiga.resource.cx used to have at least the software disk, but as it seems it's down atm.

Psossibly this (http://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/P/PROGRESSIVE-PERIPHERALS-INC-Motorola-68040-PROGESS.html) could provide a clue, but I guess it's for the precursor. No SCSI mentioned though.

Thanks, both of you - I'm making progress, and I'll post a more detailed update when I get a chance!
