I heard for years that the Commodore A2320 was the best flicker fixer to buy. Well, I made the plunge and went for it. But...I must say that after comparing this new A2320 with my faithful Microway AGA-2000, I am really not all that impressed. Yeah, the A2320 looks good, but I think the Microway actually looks better. The colors appear richer and the picture is more fine.
What is your opinion on this? I am curious. Thanks.

2320 is better, an NTSC Microway won't do PAL modes.
Quality-wise, they're quite similar.

True dat, but when I had a Microway, I noticed fringing going on on the left hand side of certain screen modes. Even turning that tiny brass screw didn't help. A video card that won't switch between PAL and NTSC is completely useless as far as I'm concerned.
Shoulda bought the OCS/ECS Indivision :-)

Indivision blows all the old-school ones away.
..unfortunately, I can't fit mine into my A500 currently due to the CFIDE68k setup and accelerator. It'll get in there though.

Cool! Yeah, I have one of those (cfide) coming too. Any day or month now... lol

A very strange thing I found out about the A2320 is that it doesn't display some screen backgrounds accurately. After loading Magic WB and keeping the default wallpapers, the 2320 looks awful. It's really hard to explain but the detail is all washed out and the colors are all smeared together.
I know, I adjusted the screw on the back but it is still there.
Another thing I have a question about is when adjusting the screw on the back of the A2320, If I adjust it all the way to the left the screen looks fine. Around midway, it looks fuzzy and all the way to the right it looks good. Where should I adjust it? Far left or far right? Is there really any difference?

You turn the screw until it looks best, and then you stop.

The best flickerfixer for A2000 is Indivision ECS.
@Tone007:
what accelerator are you using?
-
I was using a VXL*30, but I just sold it a couple of days ago. Sold the Indivision as well.

I'm beginning to believe what your saying Crumb. Looks like I'll be buying the Indivision for ECS in the very near future. I just wish I could find a demo of how it looks in action. I went to Amigakit and the demo they show doesn't give it justice.

There should be a video available on the web which shows our Technician's demonstration of IndivisionECS at last year's Amiwest show.

Are the A1200 indivisions in stock? Can only see A4000/ECS?
-
Can you run the output of the Indivision to the input of a Picasso video card, like I do with my Microway FF and Picasso II?

can't see a reason why you can't ? it's a regular VGA signal. :hammer:

I'm just wondering what resolutions does the A2320 allow the native amiga modes? I'm pretty sure with Indivision ECS you can get 1024 X 768 as long as you keep Workbench in default 16 colors.
-
I don't think a2320 allow any new screenmodes. You can only use the interlaced modes as non interlaced, which can give some vertical size boost.
also I don't think Indy ECS can do 1024x768 at 16 colors. You must be confusing with indy AGA.
