It makes you wonder who bought the property and why.  At one time those games were some of the best for the Commodore 8-bits and Amigas.  Maybe somebody plans to put some of the games on one of those hand-held game machines that plug in the front of your TV?

Perhaps it was the purchasers most ambitious project(tm)?

Probably bought up by one of the bigger game developers so that some of CinemaWare's more popular titles can be resurrected on a new platform.  Man, how I loved those old titles....still do.  I think resurrected versions on today's hardware (PC or AOS) with a 3D engine would be awesome.  Whatever the platform, I'd probably buy them again just for sake of nostalgia.

Expect a "World of Warcraft" style re-release of "It Came From The Desert" soon.  ;)

Well, we can dream...

Well, there was Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown for PS2/Xbox (Actually quite good game considering it wanted to stay true to original gameplay).  Also, Wings made it to the gameboy advance with extra mission types...  I don't see the sports titles ever re-emerging... but Rocket Ranger and It Came from the Desert are two great games that could be modernized for sure....

Let's hope for the best!  And don't forget you can play the original DOTC at http://www.cinemaware.com/
