I believe there is a classic systems repair clinic tonight, at least I hope so. I should be there most of tonight and tomorrow.

Thanks for the schedule. Now I can plan how many tapes I need to videotape the presentations. :)

Listening to audio right now with AmigaAMP. Sounds like they are still fiddling with the setup.

At Amiwest, we are demonstrating the new Indivision ECS (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=918) on an Amiga 500 with LCD monitor.
-
Paul Sadlik finished his OS 4.1.1 presentation some time ago. The show is over for the day, and we are waiting in the lobby for the banquet and its keynote addresses.

Wonder how many people showed up this year.
-
Day 2 of the AmiWest Show, and we have been moved to a different room! The original exhibition room had condensation from the air-conditioning leaking down the electrical lines, and this morning the management moved everybody to a smaller room. As of this moment, everybody is scrambling to set up tables and get power to everything.

Wonder how many people showed up this year.
I don't have exact numbers but it was more than I thought would be there. One trend we noticed is that the classic hardware and software brought to raise funds for the SACC sold like crazy compared to last year. The trend seems to be shifting from people donating stuff to buying up a lot of the classic hardware and software.
-
Except for a few minutes this morning, I couldn't log on from here at AmiWest. Thus, no chat. The show has wrapped. We're clearing out the room and then heading off to dinner. Others have long drives back to Southern California tonight.

Just got back, it's almost 3AM!!!

Just got back, it's almost 3AM!!!
I didn't make it back until after 7:45am, as I could not stay awake on the road and had to pull over to sleep for one hour half way up the mountain.
I need to go back to sleep now.
-
Any pictures, googled but can only find 2008 :/
-
I have a few pictures.
I got to sleep around 4:30 am and Amigadave still had a drive up to Big Bear from Orange!
It was a good time to be had. I was hoping things would be bigger this year but it was a tad smaller but not by much. Having Amigakit with new stuff was GREAT! I got an Indivision ECS! I need a ECS machine for it now!
Last year was SAM madness but this year we did not have a new motherboard to play with BUT it was still great.
MorphOS for MacMini will be good but we did not have enough time before the show to really be ready for a good presentation for it or more MacMinis to show/sell.
Now with MacMini MorphOS and the liberation of Amiga OS.. next year with be AWESOME!

More Pictures

oh, boy! looks like fun!
-
How did the game competition turn out?
-
I think the game competition turned out well.
We had:
AOS 4.1 SAM running xmoto
AOS 2.1 A600 running lemmings
AOS 3.9 UAE running wings of fury
AOS 1.3 C-One Minimig Core running stunt car racer
MorphOS 2.4 Efika running Diamonds
Pretty much the complete gambit of Amiga experience. Amigadave ran the event and gave out the prizes for the top players. Video was taken so I am sure when that is posted we can see the details. I posted a picture of Robert Bernardo playing Wings of Fury. I would have liked to see a few more people playing but I think there was a talk on Python for OS4 that also happened at on or near the same time. Next year Amigadave wants to do a little more work on setting the game competition and annouce the games earlier and signup people better. This year was a big ad hoc BUT it worked and it was fun! Moving the show to a new room in the middle did not help either!
-
Yes. It was loads of fun. I think we should put a poll up, after say picking 4-5 games. I got a low score, because I'm terrible at Wings of Fury!!
-
There was a practice time. You could have praticed Wings of Fury. I think we all know the real reason you got such a low score! :)
-
Thanks to Omnicron10 and Pan1k, I could not have done any of it without their help.
I am almost recovered from the lack of sleep and the long drive, but it was all worth it.
-
I had intended to participate in the games competition and was e-mailing Amigadave back and forth for weeks before the event. I didn't count on it being on a Sunday which was my 1 year anniversary so needless to say I could not be in attendance.
Looking forward to next year already!
-
Got all our pics uploaded, matt will post them for all to see, :).
-
Video was taken so I am sure when that is posted we can see the details.
Yup, I think the first video is being posted tonight -- Steven Solie making the Hyperion/Amiga, Inc. settlement announcement and fielding questions.
I posted a picture of Robert Bernardo playing Wings of Fury.
Ack! I was lame at the game. More practice definitely needed after all these years being away from it. Funny, though, how Bill Bosari picked it up just like that and got the top score on it. :)
Glad you made it back safe and sound,

It would be interesting to know if E-UAE is part of "use, develop, modify, commercialize, distribute and market AmigaOS 4.x" or whether they'll need a separate agreement on that.

Did the package arrive in time?

Did the package arrive in time?
Yes, it did Jim, just barely. Sorry I did not mention your contribution to the prize donations yet. Let me thank you, DiscreetFX, AmiKit, and Bill Bosari's friend from the Retro Computer Museum for the donation of Amiga gear for prizes given out to the Amiga Game Competition winners.
Jim, you are a scholar and a gentleman to donate items when you are in the middle of your going out of business sale. Thanks again.

Bill Bosari made a boast at the end of the AmiWest 2009 Show that he still would have won, no matter which games we chose to use in the competition. All you Amiga gamers out there should take that as the gauntlet being thrown down for next year's competition. I want to see lots more of you showing up to give Bill a run for the money and see if you can take him down a peg. :roflmao:

OK... Lemmings it is.. :-P
