I was looking over the Amiga files I downloaded to my pc sometime ago and I noticed different yet similar files. I am confused on the differences, since I can't use my Amiga yet I was wondering if anyone can tell me the differences.The following are:
BoingBag39-1.lha
BoingBag39-2.lha
OS39_update_patches.lha
OS39BB2-patches.lha
Thanks

BoingBag39-1.lha = official update for Amiga OS3.9
BoingBag39-2.lha = official update for Amiga OS3.9 and BoingBag39-1.lha
OS39_update_patches.lha = I have no idea
OS39BB2-patches.lha (http://amikit.amiga.sk/patches.htm) = unofficial set of patches for Amiga OS3.9 and BoingBag39-1.lha and BoingBag39-2.lha

OK that makes a little more sense now. By the way I like your avatar, I am a feline lover.

Wasn`t there a problem with the original Boingbag2?
Aaaargh!! I hate that word 'Boingbag' who the hell came up with that!! (presumably it was a ballbag)
AAAAAARRRRRGHHHHHH!!!!!

Probably you mean ROM update included with BB2 which might not be compatible with all Amiga models. If that is the case all you need to do is to rename AmigaOS ROM update file in Devs: to disable it (or to use the older file from BB1 if there is any, I can't remember).

Yes there is.

Yes there is.
What was the problem with BoingBag2? Should I skip it and only use the OS3.9BB2 after installing BoinBag1 or does OS3.9BB2 fix the BoingBag2 problems?
-
I only ever use BB1 and BB2, that unofficial stuff is for the birds.

Like I said, the problem *might* be (and might be not) with the AmigaOS ROM update included with official BoingBag2. The installation procedure informs you about this and lets you decide whether to install it or not. I recommend to install it. If it won't work, simply rename the file like I suggested. The OS39BB2-patches.lha archive doesn't address this issue. It patches other files of official BB1 and BB2.

@AmiKit
OK that helps a lot, thanks.
