Title: Whdload error message(s)
Post by: lauri.lotvonen on October 09, 2009, 07:34:26 AM
I'm having trouble with my A1200 again...
Most of the AGA games I try to run with whdload(preinstalled packages) gives the following error message when starting :
"Resload_Decrunch could not decrunch data"
Anyone had this problem, and knows what to do ?
I have 2 mb chip and 8 mb fast, and tried all kind of tooltypes...

Cheers  :)

WHDLoad version ?
Whdload version 16.9

Solved the problem myself, but this is strange :

When transferred the preinstalled games (zip) via amiga explorer and unpacked them in Amiga with PackMaster, the games refused to work.
But then I unpacked them under Windows XP using Winrar, then transferred them, they worked! Is this common ? I understood that unpacking .zip. lha .lzx etc.. under windows filesystem would produce errors on the files when using on amiga side ?

Yes, you got it right. LHA/LZX will preserve file attributes and decompress correctly on Amiga side; not sure about ZIP on Amiga, that's really weird...
IIRC, I also used WinRAR to extract KGWHDPacks, just to avoid slow AmigaExplorer.
When badly needed, I take CF from Amiga and make all bulk transfers via WinUAE. Both fast and reliable.
