Are there really anything usefull tools for a hobbyist music composer on Amiga? On Pc i use cakewalk(midi sequencer) soundforge, and softsynths(mainly vst)
I really havent made any music on Amiga since the protracker/octamed days

I'm no music person, but you could do no worse to see if Audio Evolution for the Amiga meets some if not all your requirements
It's actually designed for OS4, But a 68k Demo is available to download from the website.

Hope that helps

If you're interested in making music with Octomed Soundstudio it is now freeware. See the Med Soundstudio website (http://octamed.co.uk/)

Thanks :-) I will try it out
How about any decent softsynths?

Pro Station Audio, Bars and Pipes and Misic X are still useful too.
I mainly still use OctaMED soundstudio though.

Music is so profound. I wish everyone who creates music every success because it makes the world so much richer. When I think of a world without music... I just... feel so...

Check out Blackford Technology's Aural Synthetica. It's a sweet software synth with a patch panel style interface and lots of filters to tweak. http://www.blachford.info/blachtech/ (http://www.blachford.info/blachtech/)
Soinc Pulse's SoundFX looks like a nice sample editor. http://www.sonicpulse.de/ (http://www.sonicpulse.de/)
I liked the software that came with the AMAS sampler / MIDI interface as well, but I can't remember the name.
I use a DSS8+ now, and apart from the integration wihtin the hardware, the software is pretty lame (well, maybe not lame, but it's not very intuitive).

I have to agree with Wilse. I use soundstudio to drive my tone generator, it's perfect for the job :-)
