Title: Not though of this before
Post by: swift240 on September 03, 2009, 03:51:42 PM
Hi all,
Hmmmmm ok............ a MAC computer can run OS4.0 yes/no?
To be more exact what type of MAC will do it?

I see things like G4 and such like, but what will actually run OS4.0/4.1?
OR how about Morphos?

I am not talking about an emulator here.........

TIA,

Mike.

Google for Moana, i don't think anyone got longer than the kickstart-insert-cd-screen though.

MOS will come for Mac.

Not any Mac then. Only Mac Mini G4 will work with MorphOS (and Moana). Version with 64M vmem is expected to work slightly better.

If you get Moana to run, it still will be only OS4.0 without drivers for network, audio, usb etc. But MorphOS will have official support and thus will have needed drivers.

Nothing yet, but the MorphOS team has officially announced that the next port of MorphOS will be for the G4 PPC MacMini (all speeds of the G4 MacMini).  There is no release date, but everyone is hoping that it will be finished before the end of this year, maybe even before the end of the Summer (wishful thinking on my part).

No news about AmigaOS4.x and the Moana project, but many also hope that it will be completed someday, but the team for AmigaOS4.x has said that it is cancelled and it appears to be dead.
