Having issues creating 1.2MB 3.5 disks for my X68000 system. Has anyone tried, or read anything on creating these disks on a Catweasel? I have a Zorro Cat/Buddha combo that I use on my 3000D.
Had nothing but problems writing image files with some of my older (supposedly) 3 mode compatible PCs...

AFAIK, 3-mode requires compatible drives that were only available in Japan.

I always wondered about these 3-mode drives... I plea ignorace - can anyone fill me in on these ?

Yeah I have a 3 mode drive, but cant for the life of me do it on a regular intel pc. I'd be happy to put it on an Catweasel if it will allow me to write raw 1.2 images to the drive.
The 3rd mode of the drives are the 1.2MB formatted disks. 1.2MB 3.5 disks were used on Japan PC's like the PC-98 series, FM Towns, and a few newer models of the X68000 computers.

I bothered Jens about it and apparently X68000 disk support is in the works.
If you have the older Amiga version of the Catweasel you might be out of luck though. Have you tried a Win98 machine and XFloppy?

Havent tried xFloppy yet. I'm starting to think either my 3 mode drive is bad, or my BIOS setting is a lie.
Yeah, I do have an older version, but I'd be more inclined to upgrade to a new one if full support was given to 3.5 x6x disks.
Thanks, I'm going to try the xFloppy and see if that FINALLY works.
