I've just today in my mail received this Sony external SCSI cd-rom and it works fine with Squirrel. Problem is I boot up Alfred Chicken and there is no buttons to emulate the thing. Do I have to buy a CD32 joypad?
Thanks in advance!
also i lucked out with this one. i didn't know you needed audio outputs on the CD-ROM you're using but you definitely do. and mine has audio so i'll be all good on CD32 if i can control the games :O

An Amiga joystick or Amiga joypad will work too... Amigakit has 'em last time I checked. Have fun!!! I've been playing Superfrog with my CD32 joypad on my A4000 and its fun!

My experience is that in some native CD32 games is necessary additional bottoms that only the CD32 joypad have.

RED = left mouse button
BLUE = right mouse button
Or else get a CD32 / CD32 Competition Pro controller.
See posts from the previous week.

i'm thinking mouse in joystick port maybe will get me results. i'm going to try for a CD32 controller but probably get a competition pro too
thanks
i'd tried both mouse buttons and gotten nothing but only tried this one game and didn't try mouse in the other port yet.

I remember the megadrive pad runs fine without modifications (fire 2 included i think) on a1200 just some games uses more than 2 fire buttons.

Simon the Sorcerer seems fine with mouse. I found a CD32 controller cheap though so that should be good. Also strange point, this other game I tried, Alfred Chicken, the audio didn't play through the Amiga. It played through the CD-ROM's audio outputs. Simon is playing thru the Amiga audio outputs. Weiirrrrd stuff. Nice it's working though!

Alfred Chicken uses CD Audio tracks for the music so you can only here it from the CD audio output on your CD drive. You can get cables which can mix both audio outputs into one.

Not true.
You need to mod it if you want a second fire button.

Does anyone know where to get those cables? The CD Header on my A4000 mobo is a 3 pin.. and my cd drive is a 4 pin! :(

The problem on an A1200 is that many games use "up" on the D-PAD to eg. jump or accelerate a car, making it very awkward. i just soldered a wire from one of the button pads to the up pad on the circuit board.

Steal one from an old PC. And I mean really old. ISA style.
Or make your own?
