Title: How to kill errant task and (optionally) regain resources?
Post by: LoadWB on August 04, 2009, 05:25:13 AM
I think I have seen a program a long time ago which did this.  On occasion, one of the Garshneblanker modules will hang or crash.  It does not happen often, but enough.  I need a program which will kill the errant task and possibly reclaim resources.

Ideas?

scout, artm... but if something crashes regularly i would look into this. either the application is faulty or something is wrong with your system. if it happens at random, then the later is more likely.

Rebooting is the only way to get the resources back.

I'm pretty sure it's Garshneblanker.  I can run the computer for months without a single crash or reboot without it... but I like it.  The crashes are acceptable for my purposes. :)

LoadWB: Well, you're not the only one with occasional probs. running Garshneblanker... I run G modules, etc. through Mahhouse.. you could always disable/delete the modules that crash most often....
