I've got an a500 [ks1.3] here that will not soft reset when pressing ctrl+amiga+amiga.
I've tried swapping out the keyboard for another, but still the same problem.
Aside from that it works perfectly well.
Any thoughts?

PS: I also noticed the original keyboard connector has a 5th pinout, not normally present, coloured yellow. Hmmm

How good are your electronic skills? :-)
Check on pin 3 of the keyboard connector (KBreset line) which should go low when the reset combination is pressed.
If not, there is possibly a keyboard problem.
Also, if you short this line to ground, it should definately cause a system reset.
The KBreset line goes into U5 (Gary) on pin 5 I think. Check the continuity of the circuit between U5 and the keyboard connector.
When U5 sees a reset state on the KBreset line, it initiates a system reset condition.
I think that's correct?? Though my memory may be permanently damaged after too many beers last night :-P
A500 schematics are here if you need them:

@sir_inferno,
You've provided no constructive nor informative support to a valid post, I find your comments very insulting and regard them as a defamation of character.
@Castellen,
I will look into this, thanks for your feedback.

I would also like to hear from the Administrators of this website with regards to the lack of moderation which allows these fools to tarnish what I consider a respectable portal of information and resources.

defamation
\Def`a*ma"tion\, n. [OE. diffamacioun, F. diffamation. See Defame.] Act of injuring another's reputation by any slanderous communication, written or oral; the wrong of maliciously injuring the good name of another; slander; detraction; calumny; aspersion.
hmmmmmmmmmm, that's from dictionary.com, i don't think saying a joke comes under it?
then again, this is the kind of person who uses "summer" as a verb;
"I summer in Barbados regularly"

Perhaps Skippy is implying that what you said is a defamation of your character? :-P
@Skippy
I'm not sure if this will help:
