Hi,
I just bought a WAW Advanced chipram adapter for my A500, adapter is properly inserted and both wires are properly connected to Gary, but all I get is just a green screen.
I tried 8375 Agnus alone and everything seems to be working fine.
Mobo is rev 8.A1.
Any ideas? TIA

It probably doesn't work on rev8 - the manual mentions rev3 to 7.
-
Hmm, thx zipper, you are probably right :(
-
I wonder if cutting a trace near the 512k trapdoor expansion ram, like you have to do on some of the other revisions (rev 5 comes to mind) would work. Might be able to experiment and find a little known or never known A500 hack :-)
Maybe try disconnecting one of the jumpers to Gary or pulling up a certain pin. Sorry... guess it's just the tinkerer in me thinking out loud! lol

thx save2600, I even tried to connect it to pin 48 of 68k :) -> no success
I'll try it in my friend's A2000 tomorrow...

Ahem... a rev 8 mobo is an A500+ and as such is able to make use of 2 Meg chip ram ootb... (just add a 1 MB trapdoor card or add the chips by piggybacking them)
-
Yes, mobo is rev 8, but still ordinary A500, not plus.

OMG!
By the way, any of ou happen to have an english version of the manual?
-
hmm, the same result - green screen - in A2000 :(
