Greetings all...
Well, after near enough 17 years of continuous Amiga ownership and use, I'm finally selling my A1200 and the remainder of my games...
Not sure how I'm going to cope - no doubt in a few years I'll embark on an ambitious exercise to buy a new one and rebuild my collection. But until then, I'll be looking forward instead of back...
Cheers!

What was the modus for getting rid of your system, money? I've always regretted selling my Amiga stuff and it always ends up costing you more money in the long run as you try painstakingly to reclaim your stuff.
By looking forward and not looking back, do you mean you might pursue a SAM or G4/MorphOS box someday?
-
Well, so far by splitting my system I've raised over £600 (Blizzard 1260, MAS Player, Surf-Squirrel, CD-Rom drive, 13 boxed games, RGB Scart cable, Amiga 1200 w/ 2.1 Gb Hard Disk, plus magazines etc...)
I've bought a PS3 with the proceeds, and the sale of my Amiga and scart cable (plus my Sony Trinitron TV) have raised £100 to put towards a new HD TV for our living room.
So I suppose the money was a factor, coupled with the fact I'm not using it any more and figured someone else would be able to take it on and give it a good home.
As for looking forward, yes I suppose I am looking to move onto "next gen" - that's pretty much what I've been saying for the last 10 years mind you...
Cheers!

Though the PS3 is a keen peice of work, you'll never miss it as much as your miggy. :) Hopefully some time in the future there will be an Ami for you even better than the A1200

Sarah Palin... seriously?
BTW, just caught you tag and I must say the same line fits well with just about any name from D.C. I can think of plugged in. :)

Well put. How about:
Republican (and especially) the "Democratic" parties... seriously?

Whoops! Perhaps this should be taken to the Coffee House? lol
I love the guys tagline that reads: "Excuse me if this post was Amiga related"... lol

You can go but never leave... :)
Welcome back when Amiga itch grows again!

Indeed - but I think Sarah Palin has a special place amongst them!
I'm interested to see how Obama's ratings are doing by the end of the first year...

Don't feel too sad Andy, it's going to a good home (mine hehe). I'll give you first option on buying it back in the future :)
I get what Save2600 is saying becuase that's exactly what I'm doing. Re-acquiring my own beloved, accelerated and networked A1200 by getting stuff from various places. Although I got a great price for it, I'm sure to be spending much more now given that I'm about to order the Indivision, an accelerator, CF kit etc from Amigakit along with the Minimig (but that's for the lounge and to show off a little lol).

Oh I don't think I'll leave to be honest - I'll still be using AmiKit/ Amiga Forever and keeping watch for the outcome of the legal battle.
I'm also keen to see the PS3 implementation of OS4 - if it ever materialises...

Hehe! I didn't know you were posting on here! I'll hold you to that you know! Keep me in mind if you plan to re-sell in a few years time...
By the way, have you had a look at the Scottish Amiga user group that got set up recently?
http://scottishamiga.webs.com/
It's got 10 members now - not very active, but we should probably get some kind of meeting organised. I could probably get about 5 people along to a SWOS tourney somewhere if it could be arranged?
What do you reckon?

Sign me up! As long as we play it on an Amiga. I'm constantly getting my @rse kicked on the XBLA version - there are just some games that need a proper joystick - not a gamepad :(
I remember years ago, one of the stalls in the Glasgow Barra's used to hold Sensi and Kick Off 2 competitions (especially on Christmas Eve). What a blast that was. I was very good as well (at the time lol).

Welcome back when Amiga itch grows again!
I think they make a powder for that...

@AndyC
Its not so bad. I was actually delighted to put away a pretty good Amiga-setup (ppc-turbo, PicassoIV, Concierto, towered etc.) as it didnt satisfy my needs anymore, but I was quite sad to sell my MorphOS system.. got over that. After a week you won't be missing much as you're still be able to hang around at forums and Amiga-related irc-channels... which IS the most important thing in Amiga-hobby.

Did I not sell you my Blizzard 1260, if memory serves?
It's good to keep in touch with the recipients of all my Amiga stuff!

Yup, and it's still in my customized 1200 working nicely.
