Title: GVP 4060 SCSI filesystem trouble ?
Post by: Drac on July 26, 2009, 12:25:21 AM
Hi.

I just ordered a GVP 4060 from softhut today.

I look at Amiga Hardware Database that the
the tekscsi2.device is not NSD compliant,
it autoboots FFS partitions only -
it looks for filesystems in the Kickstart ROM, but it does not care about filesystems loaded into the RDB area.

Is there a workaround for this or some other way to use other filesystems ?

:)

Mountlists/DOSDrivers would be my first guess. For automounting, I'm not really sure. Would adding a line to NSDPatch.config for tekscsi accomplish anything?

EDIT: With the Kickstart building tools we have now, maybe you can add some new filesystems there?

Would it help to create a small partition with FFS to boot from and the rest of the partitions with PFS ?

:)

What is the standard filesystem for OS3.9? And what is the difference between FFS and PFS?

Thanks.

Standard filesystem for os3.9 is FFS

Info about PFS
http://www.angelfire.com/amiga/greed/pfs3specs.html

Couldn't find a page with proper info about FFS

Maybe someone else can fill in ?
