Title: Any Amiga analog to SlayRadio.com ?
Post by: orb85750 on July 25, 2009, 11:39:34 PM
As a regular listener to the superb C64 remix internet radio station, SlayRadio.com, I was wondering whether there is any analog to it for Amiga soundtracks??

Just outta curosity, I checked out SlayRadio.com. Proffessional sounding re-recordings of old 8bit SID soundtracks. Quite entertaining.

I shall answer my own question here.  On shoutcast.com there is the streaming Commodore Amiga Game and Demo Music station.   Not bad.

If I had the programming skills, I'd write a mod-player that could do direct download and playing of mods off Aminet.  The Aminet "mods"directory would appear like a drive in the file lister and you would be able to select a subdirectory or group of files and have it play them in shuffle mode. That be even better then an online radio station and most mods are small enough that they'd download in less then a couple seconds (probably less time then it would take to fill the buffer for streaming mp3s).  Alas, I have nowhere close the programming skills for something like that but I'd love someone else to steal my idea and do it. ;)

:) Too cool.  Don't like the overlap of tunes from one selection to the next with different tempos.
