Generally they'll all work, but CRTs always seem to look better.

Generally anything should be OK, though the Scan Magic has been reported to be a little fussy with certain LCDs. 50Hz (PAL) may be a problem with many LCDs.

@Damion
IMHO, I'd say 50Hz (PAL) *WILL* without exception be a problem with *ALL* LCDs.
:(

I could always select ntsc i guess

Usually, though I have a Samsung and a couple of Eizos that handle 50Hz OK.

Interesting.
Can you disclose a type of Samsung unit capable of syncing to 50Hz?
It mist be some pre-2001 era model...

Sure, it's a 740T, an older PVA unit, circa 2004 IIRC. (Comes up as "567i" in the info window at 50Hz.) The Eizo I use most is a little 15" L367 (for perfect 1024x768 with the PIV), it also handles 50Hz OK, and scales native modes *very* well with some tweaking.

I've got at least one LCD that'll do 50hz as well, and I'm in the US where 50hz stuff is pretty rare.
-
My BenQ 222W does 50 Hz but not necessarily all resolutions without hiccups.
-
Both my Shuttle XP17 and my new Dell S2409W support 50Hz. Although, the Shuttle would show an error but I could simply powercycle it to get rid of it.
-
My new DELL LCD does 50hz.

Most TFTs have problems displaying 50 Hz, although you can find some which will do nicely. CRTs give a much better picture with the Scanmagic.
I used a Scanmagic SD/FF before I replaced it with an Indivision 1200. The Indivision has no problems at all with TFTs, as it is easily capable of 60 Hz or more in all resolutions.
Anyway, the Scanmagic is a good card and performs admirably.

Cant wait for it to arrive .... I really would like to use a TFT , but if i cant at least i can still have a nicer display using a CRT than i would have using my 1084S

Is the scanmagic 24bit or 16bit. I believe its only 16 bit so you will loose lots of colours on aga stuff.

Anyone have any fitting instructions ?
