My A2000 has two 40 meg. hard drives, one with the OS, the other (Work) is empty. When I try to install the Toaster 2.0 software (14 disks) I get a message that says "Not enough space on any drive". How much space does the Toaster require? The A2000 has a 50 mhz GVP 68030 with 18 Meg fast & 1 Meg chip and a Commodore 2091 hard disk controller.
Thanks for any info.

Yes, I found that link, but I'm not using a GVP controller (although the accellerator has an IDE controller that I'm not using) I even tried putting the files they mention in the expansion drawer, but no difference. I was just wondering, is 40 meg really too small or is there something else going on?

Not being a toaster owner myself, I can't say for sure but 40mb drives do seem a bit on the small side IMO.
Anything close to 4GB would be good due to OS limitations. A change to the Professional File System or the Smart File System would help here to go beyond the 4GB barrier.

The VT2.0 manual states, "a minimum of 40 megs" for install. A 1gig drive will work fine, the directory structure for the Toaster system is self contained (unless ya re-route all the paths in the config files) and all user created Framestores, CG pages, and everything Lightwave (textures, models, images) will eventually increase in size of used space over time.

Thanks,
I have a 200 meg HD coming, hopefully that will be large enough to convince the software to install!!

Hi,
Quick update. I prepared the 200 meg drive with the standard 3.1 install disk and the toaster software didn't seem to see the partition. I replaced the 2091 controller with a GVP controller and used FaaastPrep and it worked perfectly. Maybe the old Toaster software has issues with 3.1? BTW the software installed fine, but when I click on it all I get is "Toaster not responding" with both Toaster boards!! I never had this many problems in the 1990's :-(

This might help...

Once you get that sorted
