WOW!!! Looks like and old(you can't get new, can you) XT PSU with an A500 style power connector on it.
Strange stuff indeed...

Yes that is the PS for the Amiga 500.  I have one that
I use with my A1200/040 Desktop Computer!

This thing rocks!

Red,

If I am correct, that's a Bigfoot Power Supply. I used to have one for my old A500. 250W. Those things are BOMB!!!!! That will help ya get the best out of your A500. I had an A500, with a 4MB ADRam Card, Trumpcard SCSI Controller with 80MB HHD and a 4X CDRom running off that bad boy. Gave it away to some guy in New York after I bought my first A2000. He was supposed to pay me back for shipping....now that I remember, he never did. X^(

Not just A500, but also suitable for A2000 (the long connector right in the
middle) and the one lying directly left of the A500-conector(also good for A600 or A570 ;-)  ) should fit into an A3000 or A4000.

I doubt it will fit an A3000D, although it has the required rectangle connector.

Hi Red

it is a well known Bigfoot PSU.

I've found it, on a old "AC's Guide Amiga" catalogue.

In 1991, was 150 W for A500, then in 1993 there was an updated model (200 w) with some "adapters" for Supra, 6VP hard drives (??).

IIRC, PowerComputing had a "bigfoot service", to mod your existings PSU, even to 300 Watt!

Ciao

Yep, I have a Bigfoot power supply for my A500.  It is smaller and has a different power switch configuration than the one in your picture though.

I found this:

http://www.softhut.com/micrord.html (http://www.softhut.com/micrord.html)

The official website for MircoD seems to have gone to some woman called Carroll or something
http://www.micrord.com/ (http://www.micrord.com/)
:-(

So they made external and internal PS units it seems, funky.

Ive currently converted one of these cases (http://www.digitalpowerhouse.net) to fit my A1200 (inc: Accelerator, CD-ROM, HardDrive, Keyboard adpt. and floppydrive with catweasel. working on the PSU and floppy drive atm.

shame about not having an LCD to use for the A1200.
Thinking about using one of these external BigFoot PS units so that I dont need to mess about with an internal PSU.

will post pics :-D
