Title: Elbox Power Tower with A4000D zIII/PCI busboard and Mediator + MM CD.
Post by: Nlandas on July 10, 2009, 03:47:08 AM
So what would someone pay for an Elbox Power Tower/PS with A4000D zIII/PCI busboard and Mediator + MM CD?

Just acquired these cards that are listed as compatible with the Mediator....
2 X Creative CT4810 PCI sound cards.
2 X S3 Virge 86c325 PCI video cards.

IDE hard drive
CDROM,
Floppy

Just add working Amiga 4000 motherboard and you have a really nice towerized system.

I did find this on Elbox site -

Mediator 4000 Price: US$194.34
Mediator PCI 4000D  Price:  US$302.34

Not sure how much the Power Tower itself retailed for

I did see the Mirage 4000 Pro tower with Mediator and 4000D busboard for
Price: US$530.23

Would this be best on eBay or would someone offer something reasonable on amiga.org? Could a moderator move this to Marketplace?

Part A:
The S3 Virge cards have a negative net value.  I know because I own one and I even got mine for free.  Ugh.  The drivers are broken.  Worse than useless.

Part B:
Having said that, I am sure you can find a sucker to pay you $5.00 for the S3 Virge.

I wasn't anticipating selling the virge seperately. I'd assume that they weren't worth much alone. However, it might be better than stock AGA for 1024X768 displays. I used them under Windows 95/98/2000 and they worked fine for that. Which Virge chipset did your card have? There were many different versions.
